Cool Quick update: TD05 fitted

hi all.

Who said turbos are easy change! lol first had issues with the water cooling pipes ( see previous thread) managed to drill/file them out and get some 14mm banjos and sealing washers from pirtek, all fitted no tho

the oil return pipe is a right **** to get off and reconnect!!!

ran the engine, and had a coolent leak, theres a small hole by the top banjo on the turbo in line with the threads of the bolt only like a 2mm hole, guessing this is to lube the bolts so easier to get out when need to, managed to stop it buy adjusting where the coolent pipes sit so all ok now.

ran a vac pipe straight from turbo housing to actuator, till its mapped on monday, left the old vac pipe dangling lol, the td05 has biger vac pipe fittings so going to get some t pieces and make the boost solinoid pipes fit in time for monday.

all done now tho , not driven it as too late, will do that tomorrow.

Roll on mapping on monday

no, just left the solinoid completly disconnected from t urbo, put a small bolt in each end of the pipe to block it off too,

It runs lol, went for a small drive tonight and all seems fine, the td05 is noisyer than th 04 but sounds cool lol

boosts to about 5psi which will be ok until the remap.

I noticed a bit more lag with the td05, you've certainly got to keep the revs up as before 3k not much happens at all.

Which TD05 have you fit James?

I've just fit a AFP20G and its getting mapped Friday

Running 0.5bar on actuator pressure and seem fine. Did you opt for the 3 port solenoid?
