Default whats best?

just wondered what the verdict was between a K&N induction kit and a panel filter. i've got the induction kit on at the minute but i've heard that this can damage the MAF and that the standard airbox is just as good (performance wise). i've got a 98 uk turbo by the way.
any ideas??????????

The only way that the IK will damage the maf is if its not bolted down properly.
If your not going for big power then stick with the panel filter.
All that the IK is doing is sucking in hot air, whereas the air box is a sealed unit and has the cold air flowed to it from outside the engine.
If your going for around 350bhp then an IK will be needed as the airbox cannot flow enough air
