Hi, my sti 95 has been standing on my drive for a month and I replaced the engine oil and started driving her again. I noticed the oil pressure is around 100psi rising to around 120psi when driven. When the oil gets hot the tick over goes down to around 90psi. It was never this high before and I even tried different oil but it made little difference. Is there anything that would cause the pressure to be so high?

 

first off i would double check with another pressure gauge to eliminate a fault with yours,failing that pressure relief valve in pump knackered???????

 

did you manage to change oil to another or try another gauge??

Hi Simon changed the oil from the motul 15w50 to a 10w40 and the pressure has dropped a bit still high though, I change the oil every 2000 miles must be the gauge I think?

 

hopefully just the gauge..
