No it has a resonator box in the centre, just a cat in the downpipe.

100% sure there is no cat in there, owned my MY03 for 4 years brand new, they only have one cat and thats in the downpipe, also answered your question if its a twin scroll model or not, if it sounds like a jet plane then its twin scroll

if your worrying that your car isn't a JDM check the log book as the vin code only has about 5 numbers, when I had my twin scroll fitted the car sounded like a bike on acceleration

I wouldn't worry about the cat, they may of added the older style cat pipe from classic to help get it thru the ESVA test ?? as I had to pay £330 out for a specific pipe to get mine thru

that looks like the exhaust from a uk car?? the smaller part is a 2nd cat on a UK car before joining the up pipe !! that makes your exhaust a 4 piece as in downpipe (1) next cat (2) centre section(3) and back box (4) that isnt right as it should only be a 3 piece exhaust !!

Just to make things clear
You have a up pipe which has a cat in it (from the headers to the turbo)
then you have a down pipe (from the turbo) which has a cat in it
Then you will have a second cat (small piece after the down pipe)
Then you will have a centre section (with a resonator)
Then finaly your back box
This is what i had on mine which is a 2002 wrx jdm

JDM WRX doesn't help him if he has ordered a twin scroll downpipe as the STI only has the twin scroll turbo

I thought they had the same exhaust set up (nothing to do with the turbo)
In your last post you had said there was a " 2nd cat on a uk car before joining the up pipe"
My headers join my up pipe

Default Tiwn scroll-sound

You can tell from the exhaust note if it's a twin scroll. The equal length manifolds looses the legendary flat four throb on the twin scroll. So does it sound like a beetle at idle ?

Best regards,

Ian

Hi,

what makes you think yours is a JDM version? May be worth taking to a Scooby specialist to see what they reveal alternatively your chassis code my reveal more details?

JDM Chassis no.s are a lot shorter than euro ones.

Best regards,

Ian

p.s. Whether it's a euro or a JDM it's still a scooby so don't get too depressed ;-)
