Default oil temp guage

where would you get the oil temp reading from , thinking of fitting a guage does it fit on the sump plug .

There's a bung above cylinder 3, which is a good place to monitor as it's usually the hottest running. You'll need an adapter normally to screw the temp sensor into the hole.

various places, some take it from the sump,the oil filter etc

i have an oil filter relocator to behind the headlight and my oil temp is taken from that housing

where is cylinder 3 is it easy to get to and easy to fit the adapter cheers..

As you look at the car from the front, it is the top left, i.e. drivers side and closest to the drivers seat. Takes an allen key to remove the bung, think it might be 8mm required. If you have a TMIC it's probably easier to fit with this removed.

Cylinder 3 gives you the best measurement. Its the hottest part of the engine.
