Loss of power at 5000rpm
Hi there,
I seem to have an issue with my standard 2001 WRX.
On full boost as soon as the car comes to 5000rpm there is a noticeable drop in power before picking up again (approx 5500rpm) as normal. Before 5000rpm the car pulls as normal.
Is there anything obvious from my bad explanation above?
The car hasn’t had any such issues before and is fully serviced so I’m at a loss!
Any help appreciated!

are there any error codes logged? ie. engine light coming on
it could be the ecu is pulling timing at that point.. but obviously needs investigating as to why

oh and what fuel are you using? it is possible the ecu is pulling timing at that point due to fuel being not upto the job..
try a tank of shell vpower or try another garage if already on vpower.

No, that's the thing, no error codes mate.
I've also tried a tank of VPOWER too
The cars done 70,000 if that helps and I'm pretty sure everything that has had to be changed (like spark plugs etc) have been.
