Default Simple Version question can you help?

Hi all,... so my first post on Scoobynet...!

I am sure it has been asked a few times, but I hope you can offer some advise to a newcomer.
I currently own an 03 STI Type UK and am looking at an 54 plate STI Type UK with much fewer miles.

Can you offer any advise on the difference between the 2 models and any pit falls I should look out for.

I have been told that the car is actually a 2005 version but on 54 plates?

Thanks in advance for any info you can help me with.

Welcome, the 2005 version has wheel arch extensions at the rear to accommodate the wider track (STi only), also there are no cup holders above the radio (WRX & STi). I am sure someone will know of more differences, these are just a couple of ways to help you to spot what MY (Model Year) the car is you are looking at. There are differences with the chassis etc to improve handling but you wouldn't be able to tell these just by looking.

Thanks, all good info.

The other thing that I am curious about is that my 2003 STI runs on 18'' wheels and the 2005 car is on 17''. Would it be possible to put my 18'' rims on the new car?

Anyone else offer anything more?
Thanks,
