Default losing power? reving high on start up?

hi there, my subaru has been losing power under load at high revs for a long time now, sometimes at 60 - 70, jus touch the throttle and power hesitates. last week has been reving higher then normal on start up 2k revs but today the engine check light was on and revs going up then down like was gonna stall, minute or tewo later was ok ?

Not sure about the CEL, but I would check your coil packs. My car used to run like a bag of sh1te until warmed up, as two of them were cracked.

mine did a similar thing a while back , take off your idle speed control valve and clean it , the magnet on mine broke and was making in stick intermitantly at 2000rpm. or it could be your water temp sensor, if it stops when the car gets warm, but when it was cold the revs would hunt.
