Default Sti 8 top mount intercooler into an MY98 uk turbo

I have been searching threads for the above project,and just wanted to know how easy this would be in particular the dump valve fitment,any help would be appreciated

You will need tne later newage dv that comes with the sti8 ic,adapt the standard dv pipework to fit to the later valve as the bore sizes are different,or blank off the dv pipework and fit a vta to the i/c...... will need the newage intercooler brackets and will have to adapt these to fit the bigger sti8 i/c to your car,i did something similar and it was fairly straightforward,sit the i/c on the engine and its pretty obvious what needs to be done to allow it to fit.

It is probably more complicated than that, MY98 should mean you have a hose from IC to dv.
That means you have to cut away the dv-flange on the IC and replace it with a pipe. There are threads about this, Carl Davey described it in one:

you'll also have to lose the cold air funnel over your turbo iirc cos the new intercooler will sit where that should be.

Wouldnt 98 be a front entry turbo? as i thought these were from 97 onwards..... thus no chimney
