my friend was using the car today , apprently he went though a puddle and started to run on 3 cylinders, had a look under the bonnet no water!! well looked like it was in the sump and it ran like s**t!and it was blowing out off the oil cap , but it didnt over heat when towing it home any ideas???

why would a car overheat while you are towing it?

had it running while being towed ie for lights, brakes , steering, and fan as windows where steaming up

Sounds like a head gasket to me.. If it was a piston ring u'd have black/blue smoke out the back. Where you based?

it was pissing out with smoke but only when we put water in! im based on the isle of wight mate lol ,will take it apart later but if there is more damage then though i will prob strip it
