Default boost problems

hello there im've only owned my97 wrxsti for a couple of months and most of the time it drives perfect but every now and then when you floor it it will suddeenly drop the boost and sends me flying forwards, what can i check as i said this doesnt happen all the time not sure if this will affect it but the speedo needle 'wobbles' would this cause the boost cut to come in at 4500 ?

probably fuel cut . can be caused by over filling with oil. try cleaning the boost control solenoid.

passenger side wing at turret

You need to join the two test connectors near the steering column, the two green ones. Turn on the ignition and everything will start whirring and clicking. Put rags everywhere and start blasting out the solenoid through every port while it's clicking away.

I was going to give my solenoid a clean too i take it you don't have to actually start the car in test mode just 2 clicks (lights on on the dash) then spray the solenoid?
