Rev limit on a 1999 type R
Could someone confrim the rev limit ona 1999 type R. My garage is wondering why the cut cuts at 7250rpm when they say that an sti sould cut at 8000 rpm.
However I am hearing that the type R is set at 7250.
Could someone confirm which is the limit

mods include full decat and thats about it. Tank was full with v power, Never had a problem as far as I knew before the delimiter went wrong and thats now been repaired.
when I bought the car 2 years back it had a bleed valve fitted which tsl removed as soon as they saw it saying it was a guaranteed way to blow the engine. And in 2 years its never missed a beat.

May sound silly, but did you ever take it to 7250rpm before?
Maybe it's boost creeping at the top of the rev range (not sure it's an issue on the VF turbo's though, anyone??)
(with your other thread in mind here) what sort of cut is it at 7250rpm now? Is it still a harsh jolt/stop? If it's a harsh cut it's most likely a fuel cut (look into the boost creep option) If a soft then maybe it's a rev limiter problem due to messing around with the faulty speed de-limiter (maybe look at clocks)

thanks for the advice all. I am told that the cut out is very harsh - jolts the whole car violently but I can't recall ever seeing before whether it was 7250 or 8250. The 'new' delimiter is I beleive a second hand one that they fitted once they had diagnosed the original problem.
