Cats in STI type UK

Where in the system are the catalysts in the new Type Uk I believe there are three of the pesky performance sapping precious metal items hidden in it. (Not sure if I want to jump straight in and get a full Stainless system)

Tim,
Best to wait IMHO until we see what Prodrive are bringing out for the UK STi before you start to decat your car.
If they do their magic and give you 300bhp+ with a PPP then its going to remove one or two anyway but you may also invalidate your UK warranty by removing the cats now.

I'm getting mine from Europe so not too fussed with the warrenty issue (it didn't stop me on my RB5 anyway)
If Prodrive do bring out a PPP then I'll look into that later.

Going by what they have done with the 01 it would only be a superchip anyway, (although i've got some good figures from it)
I'm sure there will be lots of power upgrades available from other sources

i agree im sure there is no cat in the up pipe.
i dont know how many of you have driven them but i was lucky enough to be able to pdi the first privatly registered sti in the uk and i was blown away by it . it pulled well it gripped well and it looks the dogs danglies although i think it looks to high off the ground and it's coming back in to have some morettes fitted soon. should look even better.

I still think there are 3 as I saw the pipe that was taken off a Litchfield car at powerstation a couple of weeks ago and counted them. Pretty sure it was from said car as no pipe on it, plus it was next to sti TMIC from same car and very clean. (cats in same places as my01)

Well, I have one expert telling me there is NOT a cat in the up pipe, and another telling me there IS!!
Me, i'm going to duck out of this one as I don't know one way or the other, but I shall be straight under the bonnet of the STi's when they arrive!!

The STi doesn't have a cat in the up pipe.
Amazing that it will pass Euro3 without one, but the WRX won't without a third cat Yet the downpipe and centre cat configuration are the same as the WRX and different to the Japanese spec STi.
Have we been sold the Californian spec WRX?

My mate Jonno has got a jap-sti7, he said there is a cat in the up-pipe and one in the downpipe
I do believe the uk-sti7 has a cat in the downpipe and one in the centre section
