Best talk to your mapper mate; should be possible in theory, you do have stronger STi internals. What's the milage on your car like?

IIRC from previous threads, the 20g might not quite get you there though.

you'll be looking at 370 - 385 bhp with that so should be ok

but as NS04 says , what's the mileagae etc

if it's low ish and has been well looked after then it will have a better chance than if it's high and ain't been looked after (obviously)

keep to regular 3000 mile oil/filter changes with quality stuff like motul fully synth , 10/40 or 15/50 and you ought be fine.

do you mean block (short motor) ?

if you go down the 2500cc route then you will have the same BHP but alot more torque , which is the transmission killer.

Have a look at my scooby, It is running better now than it was as standard and on a day to day basis i dont use any more fuel. as long as you have some mechanical sympathy there is no reason your current block wont take it.

The uk high box is meant to work better with the short motor than the jap low ratio box I think.
The excedy clutch is also a good idea at that power

[QUOTE=Power Junkie;7569107]Have a look at my scooby,

nice car lad..perfect all i want to no from someone that has fairly similer power.

the plan is get it close to 400 and then a full respray.
then a 2.5 maybe 2.33 engine, ppg 5speed close box and clutch, big turbo, external wastegate (just for the sound) and 50 nos
then big brakes, and rollcage. hoping for 450+50 nos.
then get it on the track for japfest timeattack sometime in august.

and the reason bein (long story short)i wanna beat a p***k with a so called tuning motorsport company over the road in his so called 800bhp?? skyline.
it didnt look 350bhp goin round the track last time in the timeattack.
a 350bhp twincam held it and philip borrows 450bhp type r sh*t it round the track.

am i mad to be doin this, just to prove a point? even if its to myself.
and the fact im broke doesnt help.and 7 or 8 months to do it.
any sponcers welcome. ha

do scoobyclinic or anyone of these tuning companys take your motor
and say well sort you out with what you want done,
then give it to someone else to do the job.
then give it bak to you. and put there mark on it.
i dont think so..
maybe im in the wrong, please correct me if im wrong.

but if i take my car to scoobyclinic, its scoobyclinc i want it done by.
not another crowd i never heard off.
sorry adam just using scoobyclinic as a ref.

i agree with tidgy on this one,has to be the sc450 all the way.mine is getting done sometime this year after i complete the purchase of something rather special.as for the gearbox mine went bang running 347bhp in third gear needless to say back down the clinic and a straight cut gear kit fitted which is totally bombproof and gives of quite a nice sound when you drive hard, definatley worth the money if your going up to 400bhp or even going for the sc450 it would make a very nice complete package and most importantley give you quite alot of peace of mind that you aint going to blow your box up especially if you using it for track days like you said

The Type R box is quite tough, but if your going over 400lbft then you will be needing a ppg (maybe a 6 speed??).
A 2.33 with a 321T would be a great package and would get you where you want to be, it will also rev higher which will be good with the short gears (even with 400 the Type R is a bit short)
Have a look at the Axis racing Stage 4 short block(for an idea of spec), then add your heads etc then you would have a good block.

il 4get the nos so,
well it be nice to drop the car to scoobyclinic and get it done and me not having to worry about it, was talkn to adam ages ago.
but dont have the bank roll to get it done all at once, and over and back would cost a fortune.
anyway the lad im dealing with knows what hes at. and i have a local mechanic fittin the handy bits and hope to have a lad in dublin to fit engine and all the knacky bits.(if hes finished building his track car).
and have pat doin the mapping so shouldnt be too badly off.
dazza you have the same spec as what im hoping for.
(think i will have a good change in beatn the r34 on the track anyway)
im goina cheat a bit tho, il have half a day+ booked round the track and mite take a bit of the advantage. il still be 350bhp short of what hes got.
so every bit will help.

you'd do well to beat him on a larger faster track unless your the stig

or unless he's stevie wonder

when i had my old power of 345 bhp i went heads up with an R33 GTR on the drag strip , he had 460 bhp and you couldn't split us

was 2-2 after 4 races
