The dreaded Knock
hi all,
my 98 imprezza turbo has developed a knock at low revs when cold,sound as a pound when warm,shes done 98000 so could this be the dreaded piston slap? If so whats the best way to rectify it?

erm from what ive read and discussed on here (hope others back me on this), a little piston slap when cold on a 98 car isnt that bigger deal, i hope.
same as my99-00 cars have terrible m.a.f. sensors
as long as the "slap" goes when the car is warmed up, i dont think you have major issues.

Quality , thought i was looking at some serious wedge to sort it.knock definatley goes after she s warmed up,only use millers 10/60 so she should be ok,

got oil from a local millers supplyers, went for the 10/60 as id read it was good for engines with high bhp,it originaly had 10/40 thats when i started to notice knock on warm up,so i changed to 10/60.iv heard that scoobys dont like swapping but i thought it might help .(this is her 3rd change with 10/60,)
