scoobie virgin...
ok i just got my first scoobie. had a few turbos before..like a starlet, mr2 and 200sx and finally got the wrx!
all i want really is a few pointers just so i know what im driving and how NOT to fu*k it up!
so its a 94 impreza wrx turbo import. i bought her two days ago and after looking thoroughly under the bonnet im happy to say its near enough standard. Got the air filter and forge dv oh and a 3" cat back exhaust system. no other mods and most the leads look untouched - phew.
what i wanna know is what bhp is this car as it stands? what petrol shud i be using (been given a warning if i use normal unleaded - is that true?!) and what mods do u recommend first to up the bhp a bit..
i know u guys prob get these question all the friggin time but id appreciate some kind of response.
cheers

240ps (236bhp) or if a late 94 260ps (256bhp) check under the passenger kickplate to identify the ecu (if you're really bothered )
I use Tescos99 or Vpower car is not keen on BP Ultimate 97 ron.
you can get rid of the cat in the exhaust (only one in the downpipe)
Better brakes before you raise the bhp imo.
If you do go for more power ,bigger injectors, fmic, uptrated fuel pump, uprated FPR, remappable ecu.

cheers pal..its was actually manufactured end dec 1993 but guessing its the 240ps. will sort the cat out right away and search ebay for sum decent brakes. i used normal unleaded for my first fill up (all they had) but will go for tescos99 next time.

Easiest brake upgrade is the late model 4 pots (they have SUBARU embossed on them) that's what i did for mine (about £200 calipers then an extra 100 pads/discs depending on what you buy).
Also if you have the standard 93wrx wheels the four pots won't fit as i found out so had to buy some late model impreza wheels.
HKS decat pipe was about £100.
Normal unleaded is fine as far as i know in an early WRX but you'll get the most power out of it using 1 of the 99 ron fuels.
