Forge VTA -Re-Circulating DV Question
I currently have a Forge VTA on my 2002 STi but for some reason the "whoosh" noise has stopped working from around 2.2k REVS and now only goes off from around 3.5+k.
I was going to take the DV apart to WD40 it but then had the idea of a Re-Circ DV made by Forge .
Has anyone done the swap over? What does the Re-circ valve sound like apart from NO VTA? Any difference in throttle?
My only downside from going to a non VTA is when I change gear and the DV goes off I get a nice pop and bang from my RCM team Ice system with some flames. But surely if I get a re-circ valve it will do it more as its forcing the pressure back through and around?
Any ideas?
Steve

no you will probably lose the flames as the vta lets the pressure out, and because that air that was let out was metered its the fuel that should have burnt with it going out the exhaust, causing the flames. if you have the re-circ then the air flows back into the inlet and it is metered so it will burn with the fuel set aside for it if you get what i mean.
someone else might come along and explain it in english (hopefully)

Cheers Tony. Thanks for the reply mate. I was thinking that after I typed that above. D'oh.
Have just cleaned and fully re-oiled/greased my DV (fully stripped down the whole dv). And now it goes off less than before but makes the chatter noise as though its forcing the air back through?? Its also making the car crackle alot more which a nice at it sounds isn't right. As though its over fuelling?
Anymore ideas?

Folks,
Do you think the red spring is going to be too strong?
I think my VF35 is around 19.5psi at present. But the VTA is staying open on idle.
Don't want to use too stronger spring as it may have the opposite effect.
Cheers
