Default cambelt marks

i have had a few problems on putting my 94 sti engine back in, one of them is the cambelt, its all in the right place on all the marks but when i turn it a few times and get the dotted line back on the crank, its nowhere near on the cams, any ideas why, cheers phil.

because the cambelt is so long it takes loads of turns to get the painted marks to line up again but as long as the marks on the pulleys line up all should be well if that makes sense.
