Decat downpipe fitting......
Easiest way is remove intercooler, remove turbo heatshield, unscrew and disconect lambda sensor, slacken nuts and bolts from turbo but don't fully take off yet (be careful not to sheer any....very easy to do so!), go underneath and release from centre section (removing 2 bolts), disconnect from bottom bracket on downpipe, now fully remove nuts etc from turbo area, remove downpipe from underneath. I had a mate help me as the exhaust is a little heavy on your own when trying to undo bolts. Also, you may think its a little extreme to remove intercooler, but its very difficult (i found it impossible!) to remove turbo heatshield with intercooler in place.
This is based on a classic which mine is (MY98). It may differ slightly with other models, but if so i wouldn't have thought by much.
Good luck mate.

Quick tip, if you have a small blow torch then warm up the blolts that connect the downpipe to the turbo. Just seems to make them easier to come out without shearing them off
