Default 2 port boost solenoid.

I removed the manual boost controller today and plumbed the boost solenoid back in.Being my first scoob i followed advice given on this site.
Got it all plumbed in,took it for a spin, only getting 7 psi of boost.
I cant find the brass restrictor so I guess this is the problem because the pipe from the solenoid that was blocked off was cut short so i joined it and routed it to a new t piece at the turbo.
What should I do, Buy new hoses and restrictor for solenoid or replace the manual boost controller??

You can buy the restrictor from subaru, they're a couple of quid. When they search on the parts catalogue they are called an orofice!?!
