Default Changed coolant sensor still no good!!?!?!

After a previous post narrowed my starting problems and the fans constantly running to a faulty engine coolant temp sensor (also diagnosed through reading the ecu fault codes).
I changed the coolant temp sensor today, and still having the same problems starting and check engine light still on.

Whats next? Could it be a fault in the wiring? Does the ecu need resetting or should the problem have been solved by fitting the new sensor?

Help appreciated, cheers.

i had the same problem on mine after changing the sensor the next thing you need to check is the wires from the temp sensor to the multi plugs by the battery (thats where mine came out) then go from there to the ecu until you find a break or maybe the wires have been pinched/crushed at some point

if it was only the temp sensor then it would/should not need resetting it should work straight away, as when you read the ecu codes it says for example temp sensor that also means it could be the wiring in the circuit

I'd try an ECU reset. It may have gone into 'limp home' and is ignoring the temp sensor. If a reset doesn't work then you need to start looking at your wiring.

Cheers lads, will try both today. ECU reset first then if that fails its a wiring check.

Disconnected the battery and took the ecu out and checked all wires/terminals. Put it all back together after an hour disconnected......started first time, no engine light and no fans running so it seems to be sorted for now until the next thing!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your help/advice.
