oil light comin on ?

Default oil light comin on ?

hi there i have a 2001 bugeye wrx and whenever the car has been stood for more then 24 hours and i go start it up the oil light comes on as normal then goes off but it doesnt go off completly it stays on but very faintly you can just see it . then after a minute it goes off completly the car is runing fine its not losing oil im baffled as to what it can be . i thought it could be the oil pressure switch ? . any ideas ?

Fortunately it doesn't sound like an engine prob. If you had a genuine low oil pressure you'd most likely see it at hot idle not on a cold start.

You could try changing the oil pressure switch which won't cost much. If this doesn't cure it then you have an electrical gremlin.

could be a poor earth on the engine block...... but id change the switch first too.

cheers ppl got an oil pressure switch today only cost £4 gonna fit it boxing day while im doing it gonna check the earth points aswell thanx again
