Default Subaru Shell

I will soon have a calssic saloon shell on my drive, on axle stands, ie not rolling. Its bin fodder following a heavy roll. A bit of forward planning and I would not be posting this!

How do I get it moved/lifted off my drive? Will scrap dealers come out with a grabber? I have only ever scrapped a Metro which I drove into a scrap yard and got £75 for it.

Call one and ask, but I would think they will charge you £75 to remove it as there is very little profit in it for them, also: You have no choice do you but to get them to come and get it?

I have acrsapped a few cars.. rates are £40 for something rolling (so they can tow). I scrapped an omega about 12 months ago that had no wheels, diff, suspennsion, interior, lights, cylinder heads. They came along with a hiab and took it away for free.

Another option is the get a 9" grinder and chop it into trailer sized bits, scrap it yourself for a few quid

Don't forget some safety goggles or the car may be the least of your worries.

I ended up buying a chain saw to remove 5 trees from my garden other than pay someone else to do it, I guess same idea! My neighbours will love me chopping up a car on my drive!

Cheers for options/advice.

RM.

Just do it in reasonable hours and you will be fine.. So no grinding at 7am on a sunday for example Might look pretty but neighbours will not be impressed!
