Default Re-Shelling Car

Anyone done this on their own before, at home, using their tools and drive way etc?

I have a 4 door 2000 UK Turbo 2000 that's been rolled, body work 90% knackered, all the running parts work fine.

Am thinking about buying complete running car and swapping over goodies, or re-shelling.

Someone convince me either way!

Richard.

I'm kind of wanting to do this.

There's nothing wrong with my four door but I want to build a 2 door from a bare shell.

Been thinking of a prepped shell from Roelands and building myself a true work of art

Let me know when you have finished with your 4 door shell!

You could raise the damaged shell & drop the whole front end, ie engine/gearbox/front subframe with suspension etc & roll out. That will save some time. Like wise with the rear section. But by the sounds of it you will need a complete car with no running gear & interior.

I would prefer to tackle this kind of job in the summer months.

Ticky - I have been to see some cars that can be sold to me as shells - and the advice was just that - drop the front and back, bin the old shell, and install on new one.

I am a general nuts and bolts bloke, ie I can take parts ABC off and put them onto panel ABC etc. But cant work out logistics - like you say not a winter project too.

Cheers,
Richard.
