Default forge dump valve (cleaning)

ive had my classic wrx for afew weeks now and there is a forge dump valve fitted but doesnt make a sound, all i get is a lovely chatter when coming off boost so hasnt really bothered me.
i read on google its just a case of undo the allen bolts carefully take apart and clean the components then grease and re-assemble, is that all i need to do??? would this be affecting the car by not working as everything feels fine and the car runs great?

if you take it apart try putting in new springs :-) they do 3 diffeant ratings depending what release pressure you want.

Give Forge a call they are based in gloucester

Forge do a kit with a set of springs, a couple of shims and a bag of grease
Under £20 IIRC

Is it a forge recirc valve or a vent to atmosphere?

If its recirc you won't here much and in fact a chatter implies its not opening at all (is the vac pipe from the manifold fitted?)

Not impressed with Forge, the stock spring is far to stiff (despite them claiming it matches the OE item) and can give driveability problems, so you end up spending an extra £20 (or selling it) to get what they originally advertised you would get.....

I don't know I sold it rather than pay yet more, but I know two guys who've done it and they both ended up on the softest spring plus one washer for pre-compression - both WRX wagon engines...
