HELP! WRX PPP BOOST.
I have an 02 wrx bugeye wagon and have installed the parts for the PPP. ECU daughter board, intercooler y pipe and 2nd de-cat.
I have done some research on the boost restrictor and purchased a couple from subaru.
With the standard 1.2mm I get no more than 0.5 bar. Installed a 1.0mm with the view to drill out to avoid overboost but I get no more than 0.7 bar. I then tried a 0.5mm and achieved 1.19 bar and the car felt quick.
Corespondance with Prodrive informed me that on the 01/02 wrx a 1.15mm restrictor is used and drilled out if overboost is present.
I am concerned that to achieve good boost I have to use the 0.5mm. I have checked for error codes with all the restrictors and there is nothing.
Some advice would be appreciated before I have to go to the dealer. Could it be a faulty wastegate, solenoid, vacuum leak or MAF problem. If any of these are responsible then why does it not show an error code.
Please help!
