Default Buying Advice

Hi Guys,
looking for some advice I have managed to secure a deal on a jap import 96 wrx wagon the car is mint with 21000 miles and full jap history now need to no a couple of things firstly can i run her safley on british high octane fuel BP ultimate etc as have heard differnt stories one telling me that the knock sensor adjusts to fuel types and the other being anything less than 100 ron will damage the car.

The other question is modding been told that the wrx engine should not be tuned more than about 280bhp I understand the jap wagon comes in at 240bhp where should i start.

Any help appreciated

Rick

The stock engine with TD04 won't make over about 270bhp unless you start adding components, with lots of supporting mods the TD04 will just about run to 300bhp, which properly mapped should be OK.

As for fuel, I'm not sure for that year if SUL is OK or if you need a remap to be safe.
