When I start my 2001 bugeye from cold in morning the oil pressure light glows very slightly after 2 minutes idling or half a mile of driving it goes out . If car unused for 10 hours during day light stays out when started only comes on after overnight park and only glows very slightly any ideas help.

 

First thing to check would be the oil level.

 

oil level is ok

 

If the light is only showing very dimly it could be that the oil pressure switch is faulty.

I had this problem, changed the oil switch, and now light goes out

New oil pressure switches are around £30 from a main dealer
