Default GB 270 SPORTWAGON - PPP FITTED FROM NEW

Do they set up a 'from new' PPP installation to deliberately flat spot just before 4000 rpm?

i have had a PPP'd WRX before but that was modified after 3 years not as 'from new'.

my new car definitely lets you know you are approaching 4000rpm - which is probably a good thing!

i can see the sense in setting up a new installation this way as long as it gets liberated at the first service?

anybody know anything definitive about this scenario?

thanks in anticipation.

It is a known issue with some hawkeyes but easily solved - I would speak to prodrive to see what they say.
