Engine coming out - so - advice on upgrade(s)?
Hi Guys
After having my 1998 Prodrive (UK) sitting with knackered head gaskets on teh drive for months and months, I'm now hoefully going to get round to "sorting" it.
Rather than fix the gaskets for the THIRD time on this 120,000 mile plus engine, I'm considering the following options :
1) Buyng a replacement (2nd hand) engine
2) Possibly upgrading to 2.5 L
also
3) Other "mods" such as flywheel etc
Anyone got any thoughts ? Fo rexample, what does upgrade to 2.5 entail, and what does it "get" youi. Also - if I want a trustworthy 2.0 (EJ20) engine, where shoudl I get one ? (I saw a company on ebay who claim to get all their engines from japan, then in the next breath , they say you m,ust return your irignal as an exchage (which makes we wonder whether they are just refurbing uk engines - nothing wrong with that in itself of course, but - if something isn't 100% true - it makes you nervous).
ANY thoughts from anyone who has replaced an engine GREATLY appreciated - Cheers - Mark

(Very) Roughly - what a ball-park cost for 2.5 ?
Bearing in mind the car is probably worth (5k ?) , I'm wondering what the cost of
1) 2.5
2) Replacement 2.0 (EJ20)
will be ?
Thanks - Mark
