HKS F-CON V (is it worth it)?
Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a HKS F-CON V as one has just come up for sale on New Zealand's - E-Bay (equivalent) at a really reasonable price. I have a completely stock 96 Version 3 STI Type RA. From what I understand its a piggyback ECU and mainly handles the fuel management system, ignition timing and cancels limiter function that is on the factory ECU.
I have a HKS Conce Filter that I installed and had to remove because my MAF sensor didn't like it much... Maybe I could fit it once the HKS ECU is installed...? And I'm waiting for a full 3" HKS to arrive, should be this week.
Is it worth getting this and if its already been mapped for a Version 3 STI does it need to be re-mapped for my car or is it as easy as a specialist installing it?
Thanks allot.

Hey mate, thanks allot for the reply. Appreciate it. I'm a bit hesitant about buying a second hand ECU, but they're allot cheaper. ha ha...
I'll keep an eye out for a stand alone ECU and rather get one of them.
Cheers

If you want a HKS ecu then go for the Fcon PRO V. I have one of these on my can and it is very good. Can also be used as a stand alone ecu.
Dont bother with the normal Fcon.
If I were buying again though, I would get an Apexi power FC.
If you do buy a second hand ecu then make sure you reset it before you run it on your car, even if it has come off a similar spec car to yours!!!
