Exclamation Non clicking solenoid / Actuator problem?????

After posting this thread...

https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...t-problem.html

I have checked all my pipes etc and can't find any damaged or spilt pipes etc.

Now i've noticed my boost solenoid isn't clicking! Mt last two WRX's clicked like crazy when revving but mine now does nothing

I remember cleaning my old one out with brake cleaner but can't remember how to do it...any help guys??

A new problem but maybe the solution??.....

This is my actuator right???? Well it sliped off the valve last night under boost. The car basically didn't boost and there were no whooshing or hissing noises that i had been getting in the above problem post.I put it back on and hey presto car was back to normal but all the noises were back.

Now is my actuator buggered??? I've done a bit of searching and i beleive they can be messed with to adjust boost a a bit? When it's not on the valve the valve springs back a lot is this normal?

There should be a split pin iirc to hold the actuator arm to the wastegate flap.

Check, with it all connected up that you can move the actuator by hand, it should be very difficult, you might need pliers. It should move and snap back sharply. If there is an actuator problem the car should not drive as normal, either boost late, not reach target boost or overboost depending on what is wrong. If you're not suffering any of these your boost solenoid is also working.

Yeah it's not boosting for a long time then after a while gathers a bit then bang it all comes at once.

I don't know if there is anything wrong with the actuator that's why i posted the pic i can't see anywere were a split pin could go but that makes sense mate! And yep it's very hard to move back and forth manually.Think it must be a problem with a slightly sticky actuator and a blocked solenoid.
