up pipe and down pipe questions!?
hi all,
ive got a bugeye wrx and im wanting to fit a replacement decat down pipe to free things up abit more, but ive been told that my engine light will come on because ive removed the cat is this the case?
also has anybody fitted their own replacement up pipe? mine is blowing/the gasket has failed. been told this is a common fault. how hard was it to change?
any help would be great
jamie

The problem arises if the downpipe or up-pipe you fit does not has the provision to put the sensors back in.
On the up-pipe there is a sensor, but normally this is removed as there is a danger the tip of this sensor comes off and goes into your turbo.
Do a search for CEL fixes, you should find what your looking for.

Fitting the de-cat down pipe will light up CEL P0420 (cat below efficiency), this can be mapped out with ECuTeK or a CEL fix from a reputable supplier.
Personally I'd keep the EGT sensor in the up-pipe, running your Td04 won't get it hot enough to fragment

As i said, i can tell you exactly how to do it, and give you every tip in the book, it's just pot luck with regard to nuts and bolts coming undone nicely, and having an element of patience/allowing yourself sufficient time.
