Default BLITZ NUR SPEC!!! Anything Quieter?

If you have seen any of my other posts you man know I have just joined the club and brought my first scooby. Its T Reg UK spec 4x4 turbo and it came with back two sections of a BLITZ NUR SPEC with about a 4.5" tail pip.

Its VERY VERY loud and although seems pokey and looks sweet I want to try and see if there is anything stainless that’s quieter.

I wonder if it is possible to change the back box or if its worth selling and i can buy a different two sections but it is to loud to ride around all day.

I think the car owner has been on here because there is a scoobynet sticker already in the window.

Cheers

Mike

Possibly but dont know much about ANY exhausts for a scooby being new...

Whats the differnece are both the hks and blitz good exhausts?

Would be nice to stay stainless but something quiter would be nice.

You can get a muffler that goes into the end can. I've put mine in for the same reasons.

the muffler does make quite a difference. i've got the nur spec on my v5 and i prefer it without! but the muffler does tone it down! if you don't have one i believe scooby world sell a universal one

There seems to be a smaller tail pipe within the larger 4.5" so I’m assuming that a baffle is already fitted! WOW and I thought it was loud already can’t imagine what it would be without..

Also not sure how to tell if it’s a R or RX model. Ignore that it must be an R because the RX don’t have baffles so if what is in it is a baffle which I will check later it must be the R.

hayward scott downpipe and magnex centre and rear section makes for a lovely sounding exhaust, easy to live with on m'way and normal driving, give the loud pedal and it sounds awesome!!

LOL I think it's not so much a question of 'Blitz Nur Spec - anything quieter?' but 'Anything louder?' You've got just about the loudest zorst on the market going on what others have said before!

My car is fitted with a complete Blitz Nur Spec R system from the Turbo down i.e. straight through and as Anger said, the ground really does shake!

The bung does make a difference (except for the tinny rattle it makes inside the can) but if thats too loud then you will want something else, on full song the Blitz will crack and roar which can annoy your neighbours a bit.

I think that fella with the HKS has a good alternative, mates got the same exhaust on his Turbo UK and its very easy to live with, nice low down grumble but doesn't get too loud when pushing it.

If it is the back box and mid section (Nur Spec R) you'll have to replace the whole system, as other back boxes won't fit onto the Blitz mid section.

Don't swap it with someone elses back box, as theirs won't fit yours and yours won't fit theirs.

ENLESS it is a standard mid section and a Nur Spec back box only (Spec S)..... then a straight back box swap should fit.

Yeah sounds like you have the baffle in already mate. Have a look underneath the end can about 4 inches down and there should be a 6mm bolt holding it in. If not it will just have a hole where the bolt should be.

center sections can be bought new for £80.

I sold my nur spec r, center and back box on flea bay and got £340 for it, even if it looks quite dirty take it off and use a brillo pad or two and it will look pretty good.

Would have pm'd you but they are turned off for some reason.

would be interested to see the condition of the exhaust,I have a brand new Hayward & scott decat centre and angled 4.5" back box waiting to go on my car,
I might consider aswap

pretty much any exhaust will be quiter than yours without the baffle not sure about how the H&S compares when the blitz has the baffle fitted though.

20withascooby sorry i did see that but want stainless middle section also as thats what im replacing.

Stigaz i was looking at a Hayward and scott before i got the car and will get some pics put up tomorrow and people can see what it looks like.

Seems pretty good condition from what i can see at the minute may just need a clean from road dirt but tail pipe is all shinny so see what people think.

Basically the HKS or Hayward & Scott or anything similar as long as it is two piece stainless, no cash swap and fits a classic impreza I would consider as long as its quieter.
I will get pictures up asap.

I have a brand new (still in packaging) 3" stainless exhaust which is waiting to go on my car, I'd consider a swap if your interested? as I was originally after a Blitz. It has a silencer in the middle section and obviously on the back box section so I'm assuming its not going to be that loud. Let me know if your interested.

Ha ha ..............see them queuing up for your Blitz.

Take your time in choosing who to swap with matey. The Blitz is a very reputable exhaust system and no doubt you will have offers from others with inferior exhausts, so you need to choose wisely.

What may be quiet to one person, may be loud to another.

Do your research and keep reading up about exhausts on hear and tuning company websites, to be sure you have made a good choice.
