after coming back from holiday, i open my garage to get my car out, (has not been used for about 5 weeks) and when i tried to start it, it went bang! like a shotgun/backfire. tried it again and it started fine. and sounds fine .. & drives fine

should i be worried

no mate if its fine it should be ok, might just have been old fuel, if it was only doing short trip before hand or just quickly started before it will be old fuel in the engine thats not drained away, but get the plugs out and check they should be wet from the abundance of fuel they've soaked in, but if its running well now dont panick over it to much.

It's possible that a valve could have stuck open after a long layup. As it's now running fine the valve is free, so all should be OK
