How much power?? (sti v3)
Hi all, going to add a few modifications to my97 sti v3 in the new year and was wondering what power i would be looking at gaining. Going to go for
full decat system
Ported o/e headers
Green panel filter
Walbro fuel pump
Fuel pressure reg
Apexi power fc
I also dont know if i want to upgrade my i/c? Would my own i/c suffice or will it limit the capability of the above mods? I only drive the car to work and back and it will never see a track! I rarely give it the beans and this is why i'm unsure about changing the i/c?? Your help/advice would be great. Lee

Over the last few years I have done exactly what you are planning.
To you spec you can expect a very nice car @ 315 bhp, assuming a map on the Apexi by someone good.
That will be on Vmax, no addatives.
You might want to consider a 3'' not 2.5 decat as you will want more later!
The stock V3 TMIC will be fine.
The car will drive really well I assure you.
I have now gone a little beyond your spec to 370 x 350 bhp and the car is a lot coarse on the road.
Good luck

Only a touch. Andy did my map too, ace guy.
For an Sti to go quicker you first need to do the suspension. Nothing grand, just with the right simple bits.
That then will allow you to use every bhp/lbft Andy can find for you with the Apexi.
I hillclimbed my Sti in the '315 + Whiteline' mode for 2 years and the car was really quick for its spec.
However, if you just want a Drag speed benefit, then you will feel some advantage, but not too much, but the car will be much more responsive and useable, till the suspension lets you down that is...
