The TD05 should get you where you want to be, A good spec to get where you want to be would be:- Apexi power fc (better resale) an AVCR, sti8 TMIC, uprated fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator, a better quality air filter (APS cold air) is excellent for your power. If you want it a little better add headers and an up pipe

My personal turbo choice would be the VF34 , more power and better spool up in my experience ...Agree with everything else Steve recommended though especially the headers , choose a good quality set from the likes of Lateral , RCM or Zen...

This has some relevance to what you are proposing.

Hi I have not long had my first scoob.
my99 uk standard.
I take it that the mods as stated above after everything was done it would have to be re-mapped???????

it would most definately have to be remapped, unless you didn't care if you blew your engine up

If you change the turbo or add an FMIC or change injectors for that matter, then you need to remap and that is possible on ver 5 and 6 cars.
The STi 3 Wagon refered to in the link above with 335 bhp was on the standard ECU which on ver1-4 cannot be remapped.
It was essential to check that car for DET and AFRs but everything was satisfactory on this occassion without a remap.
At present, to fully remap ver1-4 ECUs, an aftermarket replacement or pigguback ECU is required.

Id start with the brakes, discs and pads are not really viable to what you want to do, go for a bigger brake setup then think about modifying further, as long as your insurance co agrees that is plus the more power the greater the chance things will go wrong, so budget for that also (clutch and gearbox normally).

Just to clarify, Version 1, 2, 5 and 6 onwards Ecu's can all be remapped.

Only Version 3 and 4 remain to be conquered, this isn't too far away either

Are you saying that version 1 and 2 cars are fully remappable ie. ignition, fuel and boost?

Yes thats correct, 16x16 Ignition base map, 16x16 Ignition advance map, 16x16 Fuel map, 8x8 64 point rpm v tps boost target and 64 point wastegate duty maps, MAF sensor scaling, Fuel injector scaling, MAP scaling for later 1.7 bar sensors, smooth and hard cut rev limiter, speed limiter.
You also retain the factory Knock control, the effectiveness of which can be monitored live as you live map with the engine running on load.

Harvey Andy refers to the same system that I use on the early cars, real time remapping of the factory ecu on the fly without having to stop, works very well given coil packs are in good nick !!

cheers
