Default possible faulty sensor?

Hi everyone having bit of trouble with MY99 scoob, car is fine when first started then after a few mins wont accelarte, basicly if i completely depress the accelartor it will start to speed up slightly then the revs will drop right back down to about 1000rpm ish, the car feels maybe like the air or fuel is being restricted, i have just changed the MAf as My99 are prone to MAf failure, it made no difference,
the wierd thing is though, if i pull over switch off the engine for five mins, when i restart it it runs fine, for a few mins thend oes it again, so im thinking coil pack, coolant temp sensor?

any idea's?

Regards

coolant temp sensor tends to cause the rad fans to be on when the engine is cold.. so you can check that

initial thought from your description is the cat in the exhaust it collapsing.. but could also be the fuel pump..

doesn't sound spark related as I would expect a misfire rather than complete holding back etc..
