Default Inlet pipe to Maf housing question?

The pipe that connects the inlet pipe to the MAF housing, (the part between the 2 blus silicone hoses) can this be taken away so that the maf housing is connected directly onto the inlet pipe?

Only reasn I ask is that I have the Apexi induction kit and its sitting under my FMIC piping.

Thanks
S!

It can affect the Maf readings if its too close to the turbo!
Also, the Maf housing is 90mm outside diammeter, and the end of your Inlet hose is something in the region of 76-80mm. This means you need some kind of reducing joiner piece, and then this piece needs to be curved really to get the correct angle!! AFAIK there isn't a piece of Silicone hose like that available!!

Unfortunetly, if you run the MAF sensor, its always going to be a tight squeeze to fit the Induction in along with the FMIC pipework!
