Silly question time........
Guys if my MAF was on its way out would it give me a change in exhaust note ie it sounds louder, the burble for want of a better word is more pronounced a bit like a misfire even though the engine feels smooth and not lumpy.
My car is a my95 JDM WRX.
Revs sometimes hold at 1100/1200 rpm and sometimes feels down on power.
Just recently fitted four new coil packs and plugs thinking it may be a misfire.
Three out of the four coil packs were cracked at the end but having changed these and fitted new plugs with a gap of .7 it has made no difference.
Also did a compression test yesterday and i`m getting about 150-160psi on all four cylinders.
Struggling on this guys so any help appreciated cheers.
Nick

It should stop I think. If it keeps running then I think that means the car has compensated for a gradually failing MAF already. So when you disconnect it the car doesn't care.

best thing to do m8 is a search on how to reset your ecu. you'll find alot of good advice as folk will tell you to do it in all different ways. i just disconnected the battery for about half hour.
