Default Air flow meter problem???

Hi could anyone advise me please?

Car failed on emmisions so got new lamda! any way after fitting, the car revs go straight upto 2500/3000 rpm.

I have double checked all connectors and put old lambda back on to rule that out.

Is it possible that the air flow meter is knackered? as i did have the battery disconnected for an hour, and am i correct in thinking the ecu might have picked up on a fault with that now?

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers Paul

it is possible.. however 2500/3000 is a bit unusual for a maf problem.. are there any error codes showing?

but I would check the throttle linkage / cable and check there is nothing hampering the throttle closing fully.

what year is the car?

Is it stable at 3000, or fluctuating up and down? If it's fluctuating i would go for icv.

Hi all I got Maf so changed air flow meter this morning and also put new lambda on. Had battery disconnected during all this, checked all pipes connectors etc etc..

Now what happens is when you start the car it sits at about 1500rpm but once you rev it will sit at between 2500/3000 and hold there?

The throttle returns back to idle position but revs stay up? I have just been down the road for a steady 40 mile the car seems to drive ok apart from idling at 3000rpm???

any ideas?????

HELP PLEASE!
