Hiya people , can any one help me with a problem i have with me wrx, a few weeks ago i noticed me window screen appeared to start steaming up when i put the temp setting on me blower to hot , i noticed it actually didnt look like steam close up it looked more like a browny mucky colour, i asked around for peoples opinions which all started to point to the heater matrix ......last night my mates feet appeared to be wet , checked me water and it appeared to have dissapeared ,,,,,,,,does it sound as tho the matrix has gone ?
if so hows the best way to repair or replace the matrix ,,,? are they expensive and is it a buga of a job to do for a bit of a dabbler or would you reccomend a garge dop the job and what sort of price would i be expecting to shell out ,,,,,,,,its a nightmare really as it was only around 8 months ago i had me engine fully rebuilt with uprated pistons etc etc which didnt come cheap..............ill take 3 and a half grand if anyone intrested, its a my95 wrx in white cheers or part ex for a zafira or summit

defo sounds like heater matrix and is a pita of a job.......dash out to sort

It's a common problem and definately the matrix. On my old WRX i had Prosport do one and then it went again 4 years later so did it myself. It takes time to get the dash out but not hard at all... i'd have a go if i was you.

I got the matrix from Grade A subaru.
