Default HKS SSQV-VTA or Recirc ?

Just trying to get the last few bits and pieces finished on my car before the remap.

I was going to fit the recirc adaptor to my HKS blow off valve as I don't really like the sound of it and people say it's bad for the car but i've also heard that the recirc air being blown backwards through the maf can cause problems.

What's the best option ?

Put the original DV back on your car if you dont like the HKS SSQV sound. SSQV's dont offer any performance gain, so if you dont want a VTA DV, fit the O/E DV back on and sell the HKS.

How can you say the HKS SSQV doesn't add any performance? I noticed the car picked up better through the gears from the moment I fitted my HKS dump valve! It might not have been much but I'd call it a gain!

I run a SSQV converted to recirc, its still bloody noisy but at least the air-brake' noise has gone. It can make the car judder when air passes back over the MAFF but that's also due to the extra volume of air in a fmic.

Not sure the SSQV does not in my experience offer any significant gains in any area...as you have a TD05 you could always run it without the BOV at all.

I'm running a 20g and it's going to be around 1.5-1.6 bar,not sure running with no BOV is a good idea !

Where did you plumb the recirc pipe back into ? Does it go into one of the holes on the 90 degree hose from the air filter-turbo ?

as i understand it the TD05 is strong enough to deal with no BOV...I have to be honest and say I haven't really researched the subject so don't know the mechanics behind it

you just blank off the recirc pipe. I'm running one of Mr Forests 18g so i'm in a similar position

I think thats called the placebo effect mate. Cant see how it can pick up better though the gears as its doing the exact same thing the O/E recirc does, just venting the same amount of air into the atmosphere.

back into the hard pipe that runs along the back of the IM...where the OEM BOV should be connected.
