Power, delivery and air/fuel mix will all be different so are you factoring in a remap etc? You can get 16G turbo's on more than just Imprezas so you will have to make sure you get Subaru inlet/outlet fitment.

The Subaru fitment TD05 was for the original classics so as as long as they keep the normal exhaust inlet/outlet you will be fine afaik. The only thing to check is for 90 degree air inlet (snorkel as it can be known) or front entry inlet on your TD04 No idea about that year/turbo

Hi mate you have pretty much the same car as me so...

Your car needs a front entry turbo and most TD05 are 90 degree so you will need to get in touch with Andy F on here who will be able to sell you the part you need for about £60.

Now here is the thing! How much power are you going for? As on your car you have a TD04 right now what has really no lag as it spools up from about 1800rpm, If you go for a TD05 first thing ull notice is nothing happens untill 3000rmp!!!

Iv just myself changed my car from a TD04 to a TD05-16g! What a fool! I live in London so never really get to see 3000 rev's and so never get to use the power and the car feels rubbish!

Trust me... If you only want 300-310 bhp get your self a TD04 hybrid! It will start to spool from 1800revs and by 2500 ul have full boost and i have heard of cars having 280 lbs of toquk (or how ever its spelt) by then?

Another thing... If you go other 320-330 bhp start saving for a new gear box!

going 4 400
thanks for your response, was only looking around the 300 to 320 bhp as i dont want to smash the gearbox,i have had a look on andy f site & read about the hybrid td04 sounds very impressive as it spools the same with better mid & top,i'm going to go down that route, as i know i wouldnt be happy with the td05 16g if it spools that late.i have done a search on here & the hybrid td04 sounds a very good upgrade for me.

thanks again for your advise

I'd thoroughly recommend the Andy F TD04 Hybrid too (I have one on my Scoob).
