Default What mods for a Hawkeye STI PPP

ok couple of questions

im saving, and seriously attempting to get my hands on a Hawkeye STI. On the grounds that the PPP never commands its full premium on the 2nd hand market, i figure a PPP would be a good base to start from

i would have thought a meatier back box would be in order first off. And probably a remap

would anything else be needed to get say ~ 340 bhp ?

also, what backbox should i go for ? one that sounds a bit like this one would be ideal !

288 ATW + 16% transmission loss on delta dash = 334bhp

Considering the amount of mods I have had to do on other cars in the past, it's amazing what a relatively small amount of money and effort yields on the Hawkeye STi.

Another choice of exhaust for a good noise is a Revolution (read Jetex) 3" decat for about £500.

53WRX - I take it the rear tints were add ons as my Spec D doesn't have them.

not sure what the BHP gains will be like though, are certain exhausts better for BHP gain than others ?

Hayward and Scott Exhaust (H&S )

334 BHP but 375ftLbs of torque is the best bit !

Depending on your view of calculating fly wheel BHP and torque from power at the wheels I have quoted 16/21/25% figures. The 2.5's are great for tuning with relatively little money.

Click on the picture to make it larger to read the figures.

The tints were an after mod from pentagon, and make the car I think. Plus the baby blinds could now be binned !

If you have a Spec D I can recommend Dodo Juice Banana Armour Wax, its brilliant !

decat remap and you'll have over 350bhp, but heat becomes an issue at this point so prob best to fit an oilcooler to make sure

You won't need to worry about an MOT for a couple of years yet on a hawkeye.
The solution is to fit a sports cat in the centre or downpipe.
I had to plump for a decat as I couldn't find a true 3" sports cat to fit my Revolution AND the six speed box. The H & S one can be tailor made but the starting price is a little OTT. Jetex are working on one though.
The Revolution noise is very fruity and very bareable even with the high motorway miles I do. My only concern is being pulled over for noise, so I go up a few gears in town.
