IV'E GOT A 1997 IMPREZA SPORT WHEN COLD IT RATTLES IT SOUNDS LIKE THE CAMSHAFT BUT WHEN IT GETS WARM IT GOES. ANY ONE ELSE GOT THIS PROBLEM' MY MATE HAD A 96 IMPREZA AND HE SAID HIS RATTLED IN THE MORNING BUT ITS DOING MY HEAD IN THE CAR HAS 94000 MLS BUT FULL SERVICE

No No No, that's not my car. I have a MY00. No piston slap so far. There are plenty of others here with piston slap though. The recording is AJ Leslie's car, a bbs member. He provided the recording for us and I've bookmarked it and post it when someone is in doubt.

Hello,i have also a rattle in my engine and when i went to the engineer he told me that may be a piston.
Where can i find sounds to compare it?Because i really dont trust engineers here at my Country.

mines noisey as well when cold, i try not to worry about it as my mate with a uk car says mines actualy quiet for a imprezza

Mine had a rattling coming from the engine recently. Today i had to get it lifted as the rattle sound turned into what i can only describe as a tractor sound. It happened after a good right foot frenzy. Something bad has happened and looks like i'm going to have to go and sell a few things. Hope the same doesnt happen tyo you
