Default classic ecu error codes

Hi, I have a 93 1.8 GL impreza and I noticed increased fuel consumption. I checked the ECU for fault codes and it showed 2 codes
33 Vehicle Speed Sensor & 51 Neutral Position Switch

Anyone got any ideas
Thanks steve

those error codes are unlikely to cause increased fuel use..

mostlikely the lambda / O2 sensor in the exhaust

lol.. reset the ecu see JollyGreenMonster.co.uk
and check to see if they return.. I am assuming the CEL was not on and you just checked? they could be months old etc..

when driving it sames to be quite slow on the pull with a bit of a stutter now and then but when you very go for it and reach about 3500 till 5000 it gos like a dream. its only a 1.8 GL so i know its no sport or turbo but i know someone with one of these and it drives like a dream compared to mine.
Things try ed so far

Replaced fuel pump
Replaced MAF
Replaced plugs
Cleaned MAF/redex in tank down throttle body cleaned etc
Replaced airfilter
