Default Just fitted knocklink - working ?

Just fitted the damn thing, heres what happened.

powered it up, 1st green LED lights up.

i havent driven it yet, just stationery results.

rev to 3-4k,still 1st green LED,rev to 5-6k, 1st LED goes brighter, but no others light up,repeat revvin it to 5-6k,dump valve workin etc and at say 6-7k got some action, 1st green LED then 2nd then the amber one lights up,got it to do this 2 or 3 times at 6-7k revvin, didnt hold it at those revs, just gradual build up blippin it to those amounts

is it workin o.k,or should it have lit up more, the big white LED didnt light up

if it is workin, i assume al lis well then regards to no knockin etc ???

chers for any input

You won't know until its driven under load. Sounds like the equipment itself is all powered up though.

no you shouldnt be able to light them up. Thats the point. If you can the engines possible detting. The way to test its working is to tap the block near the sensor with something metalic(long extension bar) and get some one else to watch the lights. the harder you tap the more lights should come on until you reach the max

To be honest, bouncing off the limiter not under load is probably generating engine noise similar to the knock frequency, and it isn't real knock.

In fact in many cases of 6k+ rpm, the lights might not be knock but the only way to check is with det cans.

There are a lot of thread on this subject, help yourself to a search!

My car lights up one sometimes two green when getting above 6000 rpm. I use it as a gear change indicator. You dont need to go so near the redline before changing gear.

the 1st LED is very dim,it only gets bright when im giving it full chat, same as the 2nd LED.

its hard to tell the thing is on in the daylight with such a dim 1st LED,but i suppose once u give it some, it soon lights up a bit !

i tried searching but alas, its useless now and poured out nothing but junk archive threads.

cheers
