Default why over boost now ?

today i swapped most of the boost pipes for blue silicone pipes, just to tidy it up a bit,and tightend all jublie clips up, took it around block and dont know why but the car feels quicker, but now over boosts is this related,

had over boost a while back and cleaned the boost solelond and it stopped it , so whys it back ?

also in one end of a t piece there is a small brass little thing with a tiny hole in whats that for , the metal thing i just said is in the pipe leading to my boost gauge, is this in the right pipe or have i put it in the wrong pipe when changing the pipes, (hope all that makes sense) lol
any help would be great.
cheers

I think the restrictor (the small brass thing) should be in the pipe coming from the boost solenoid to the intake piping. On a MY95 WRX it connects to the intake resonator which has the connection for the idle air as well.
