hi,im in the middle of rebuilding my engine, now its ready for putting back together after replacing the crank, bearings, connecting rods and piston rings.what i need now tho is liquid gasket, ive looked for threebond 1215 but couldnt get a uk seller,is there anything equivalent to this product?

another thing i need is good oil for lubing the bearings and use the rest to fill the engine, whats the best oil?the cause of my bottom end going was oil i used...castrol magnetic!this stuff damaged my crank, three connecting rods and big ends had run around each other 1 connecting rod had no bearings at all, each journal was black from over heating.

You can use Loctite 574 for sealing the block halves, and oil pump to the block, as for lube on assembly, use a proper assembly lube from the likes of Millers or Torco, wouldn't use engine oil for assembly.

What for running in or assembly? For assembly its called assembly lube. Running in use 10w40 mineral oil for a couplle hundred low stress miles and then swap to a semi-synth, then finally to a full synth.

Roger Clark Motorsport sell three bond and have it on the shelf I would only use this for engines as it's what subaru use and is good stuff (no leaks)

Moly lube is what you want for assembly, threebond is good-use sparingly.

You should only use moly libe on the bolt threads so you get the correct torque, and use a proper assembly lube oil on the bearings.

there are lots of causes of bigend failure from maf's to injectors not just oil i've seen sti's on well over 100k miles that have always used magnatec with no problems at all.
